Georgina ‘George’ Turgoose I am a 47-year-old ‘Queenager’ from Nottingham. Special needs coordinator and teacher, mother of one 11-year-old daughter (going on 18) and sausage dog. I love all things vintage and mid-century, reading, walking and all things that make me feel good. To me going through menopause is like going through puberty all over again, but this time you have a job, a house, dependents and all this responsibility so you can’t just have a tantrum and stay in your bedroom for days on end! It can also be extremely lonely and you have times where you feel you are going mad – you are not – we just need to be better educated and supported. I have had a battle getting the support that I needed and had to pay privately at one point just so I could function. I am hoping that some of the aspects I have been through may help someone else out there. I believe doing what you need or want is not selfish, it is self-care, so get that facial or your nails done, learn a new skill, buy the dress and the shoes J Instagram @ms_darla_jean
